This article provides an overview on the basic steps for working in Remedly, from adding a new patient to checking them out for their appointment.

Schedule an Appointment for a New Patient
In order to schedule a patient for an appointment, click on a suitable time slot in the calendar.
An appointment window will open. You can search for an existing patient by either patient name, email address, or phone number, or you can create a new patient account.
Add a New Patient
In the appointment window, click +Add New Patient.
A pop-up window will appear where you need to add the relevant patient information. All items identified with and a red asterick * are required items.
Once completed, click Add Patient.
Notification will appear that the patient has been added to the database.
Create an Appointment
Once the patient has been assigned to the appointment, the following additional information must be added, and some fields may be auto-filled:
- Department
- Practitioner
- Appointment date
- Appointment start time.
The next fields to complete include:
- Appointment mode
- Services
- Appointment duration (auto-filled) or provide a custom duration for this appointment only
- Room
- Note
When the necessary fields are completed, click Create Appointment.
A notification will appear confirming that the appointment has been created.
The appointment status will be included in the appointment tile.
Confirm the Appointment
To confirm the appointment, click on the appointment to open it then click Confirm Appointment.
A notification will appear confirmation the appointment status change.
The status will also change in the appointment tile.
Check the Patient In
When the patient arrives, open the appointment and check the patient in by clicking the Check-in button.
The appointment status will change to Checked In, so the practice is aware that the patient is onsite.
Signing Consent Forms
If the patient has not completed their consent forms prior to their appointment, you can ask them to complete the forms from the appointment window. Most practices provide a tablet at the front desk to enable form completion in the waiting room.

Add a New Encounter Note
Once the forms are signed, the provider can start the encounter note from the appointment by clicking Start New Encounter Note.
Select an encounter template from the drop-down and click Start Encounter.
A new tab will launch for the provider to complete the encounter note. Using the links under Patient's Medical Summary, the provider can add content as needed to document the patient encounter. The provider can also cancel the encounter note if needed.
Once all documentation of the encounter has been completed, the provider should sign the note. Additional notes can be added when signing then click Save.
A notification will appear confirming that the encounter was signed.
The appointment will display that the encounter note is signed.
Add an Addendum to a Signed Encounter
Signed encounters cannot be edited but you can add addendums.
1. When you opened an encounter, scroll down the page.
2. Choose Addendums.
3. Click + Add Addendum.
4. Fill in the Subject and the relevant details. Then click Save.
Each addendum will be listed and can be opened by clicking on the Subject field for viewing.
When opened, the addendum details can be reviewed.
Note: There is no limit to how many addendums can be added to a note.
Add a Bill
A bill can be generated for the appointment if a rendered service added to it. From the appointment window, click Add Bill.
A pop-up window will appear for identifying services to include in the bill, then click Add bill.
A notification will appear confirming that the bill was added.
Check the patient out
After the bill has added, you'll be able to check the patient out. Go to the appointment window and click Check-out.
The appointment status will change to checked-out.
Note: the patient can be checked out without a bill being associated with the appointment by using the More Action menu. Best practice however is to manage the billing process before checking out the patient.
