In this release, we made further improvements to our platform performance and addressing bugs in addition to the enhancements below.
In this article, you will learn about our updates to:
- Enable patients to input a discreet tip at the terminal
- Allow multiple patients to use the same email address
Tipping at the Terminal
When checking patients out, it can be beneficial to allow them to discreetly add a tip while approving their payment at the terminal. This feature is either activated or not for all terminals and all transactions.
A new Tips report will summarize all tips inputted at the terminal including the following details:
- Date/time
- Patient name
- Payment number
- Payment amount
- Tip amount
- Invoice number
- Provider name
- Total tip amount
Note: this feature requires using one of our integrated merchant services such as 360 Payments or Square.
Payment Receipt displays the tip amount, and if the payment is refunded, the tip amount will not be included in the refund.
360 Payments
In order to activate this feature, please reach out to support@360payments.com. If you are not currently using PAX terminals, you will asked to update your terminals free of charge.
Note: if tipping is activated, HSA/FSA cards cannot be used as payment as they do not allow tipping.
Square
To activate tipping at the terminal, use the Square Integration link provided under Practice Account:
Tips can also be viewed by logging into your Square account.
Patients can receive an email of their transactions including tips:
Shared Emails Across Multiple Patients
We have enabled the ability for patients to use the same email address across multiple patient accounts. A family for instance may want to have their children use the same email address as their parent.
When logging in using the same email address and password or resetting their password, the patient will be prompted which account they are accessing in a HIPAA-compliant manner.
