With Remedly's integrated payment services, you will be able to get quick and secure payments by streamlining your practice's check-out operations and simplifying credit card processing.
Remedly + Square is more than just payments. Not only does this service provide a simplistic and effective payment solution, but it also allows you to follow real-time sales analytics through their dashboard.
With Square's painless set up, you can quickly be on your way to boosting retail sales and growing your practice.
Additionally, with Remedly, you can securely retain a patient's credit card information. In order to save the Credit Card on file go to the individual patient history -> Credit Card Category. Click Add Card.
Input the information and click Save Card.
The patient's credit card data will be retained by the merchant's secure servers.
Note: Credit Card on File activates the Apply Payment button to transact the payment through integrated merchant services.
Note: if your practice is exclusively collecting payments via Credit Card on File, you will not need to purchase the Square Terminal. However Square charges a higher rate for Credit Card on File transactions vs. Terminal (in person) transactions due to the higher risk they incur.
Note: if patients pay an outstanding invoice via the patient portal, their card information is not retained as Credit Card on File.

Prerequisite
You should already have an account with Square with all required information setup including verified bank account and location(s).
If you do not already have a Square account, please reach out to support@remedly.com to get a pricing quote from Square.
Please note that Remedly's integration with Square is specifically with Square Terminals, not Card Readers. If you only have a Card Reader and not a Terminal, please notify your Customer Success Manager.
Activate the Remedy + Square integration
Your main provider will need to follow these steps to activate the integration:
- Notify your Remedly CSM to activate Square integration.
- Ensure your Square Terminal is on the most up-to-date software.
- Have main provider login into https://app.remedly.com
- Locate the Square integration link under Practice Account and click on the link:
5. Click on Connect Square Account button:
6. You will be transferred to a Square screen where you will need to login using your Square account in order to link Remedly with your Square account:
7. After allowing all preferred Permissions, the connection is confirmed and you are returned to Remedly:
8. In this screen, please select the correct location for the terminals being configured:
Setup each of your POS terminals
Once the above steps are competed, please follow these next steps to setup each of your POS terminals:
a) Select Credit Card Readers under Practice Account:
b) Click the Add New Card Reader button.
c) Select the Remedly location where the POS terminal will be used and create the terminal name.
d) Click on the Obtain a Device Code button.
e) Log out then log back into your POS Terminal using the Device Code provided, not your email address.
f) In Manage Card Readers, verify that your Device ID code matches the serial number on the back of your terminal:
g) In Square Account & Settings, open Businesses then Devices to verify that the terminal name appears in the Square account correctly with an Active status:
Verify the POS terminal functionality in Remedly
To verify that the POS terminal is functioning in Remedly, create a payment using a credit card and the Start Terminal button should display:
The Square terminal will show the credit card processing:
After that, the patient adds their signature to complete the transaction.
Patient signature is documented for the payment on email that is sent directly from Square to the patient.
Activate tipping
Tipping at the terminal can be activated using the Square Integration link within Practice Account.
Note: At the moment it's possible to connect Square with only one location.
Troubleshooting
If the connection between Remedly and Square falters, try tapping on your terminal screen to reset the connection. If this fails, then utilize the factory terminal reset steps below:
1. On your terminal, select General then About Terminal.
2. Use the Factory Reset link in the bottom of the screen.
Convert Existing Square Account for Remedly Integration
1. Ensure that you have a Square Terminal onsite which is the only Square device designed to support Remedly's integration. Square Terminals can be purchased here.
2. Email support@remedly.com and ask to activate the Remedly integration for your Square account. Once activated, follow the steps outlined in the following article to complete the integration on the Remedly side:
3. Go to Square<>Remedly Integration Setup to download the integration app and activate the integration on the Square side.
