In this article, you'll learn about our updates to:
We have made a significant improvement to enhance HIPAA compliance in our application, specifically concerning the display of patient information on the appointment calendar.
Key Improvements
-
Patient Info Filter Update
- The Patient names filter in the Appointment Info calendar settings has been renamed to Patient info. This change signifies that the filter now applies to all Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA, not just patient names.
-
Protected Health Information Visibility
- When the Patient info box is deactivated and you hover over an appointment, PHI will not be displayed. This enhancement is particularly useful for front desk tablets handed to patients for consent form completion.
-
Consistent Deactivation Across Hover Display
- If any Appointment Info fields are deactivated in the settings, these fields will also be removed from the hover display. This ensures that sensitive information is not visible when it shouldn't be.
By implementing these changes, we aim to provide a more secure and compliant environment for managing patient and appointment information, ensuring that sensitive data is handled with the utmost care.
