Navigate to the Patient Chart after Creating a Patient
The process of creating a new patient from the patient list page has been improved. Once the new patient account has been created, you will be forwarded to their patient chart to complete any additional inputs.
On the patient list page, click Add New Patient. Enter the required information and press Add Patient.
You will navigate directly to that new patient's chart for further inputs as needed.
Notification of Missing Details when Signing Encounter
When signing the encounter, a notification will outline which additional information should be completed in order to document a robust note. This ensures that the note will not be missing critical details such as a diagnosis, an assessment, or a rendered service. You can however sign the encounter without completing the suggested fields by pressing Save.
Open the Patient Chart from the Related Appointment
You can easily open the patient chart from the patient's appointment for improved access and workflows.
To open the patient chart from the appointment, navigate to the patient's name and click on the hyperlink provided. The patient chart will open in a separate tab.
Create a Private Practitioner's Note
Practitioners can add a note to document patient conversations or other items as needed. Practitioner's Notes can be seen only by the creator of the note. They are stored separately from patients’ records.
To create a practitioner's note:
1) Open the desired patient chart
2) Scroll down to find on the left menu Practitioner's note
3) Press Add Practitioner's note and fill in the required information
Add Administrative Notes in the Patient Chart
Administrative notes enable communication between billers and providers by documenting important billing details and etc. Anyone from the practice can create, view, edit, and delete notes.
To create an administrative note:
1) Open the patient chart of the desired patient
2) On the left menu find Administrative Notes
3) Open and press Add Administrative Note
Specify the Prior Authorization Number for Patient
When patients have received prior authorization from their insurance company for coverage, this prior authorization number can be inputted in the corresponding field for reference as needed. Retaining this data improves workflows for claims submission and approval.
To add a prior authorization number within the RCM:
1) Open the desired patient chart and navigate to their insurance details
2) Select the insurance policy which has provided the prior authorization number
3) In the opened window scroll down to find Authorizations
4) Press Add Authorization
5) Fill in the required fields
6) Press Create
Note: prior authorization numbers will be visible under insurance information in the RCM.
Note: you can also add a prior authorization number from the EHR by clicking the appropriate patient insurance.
