More control over Appointment-related Patient Notifications
To give you a greater control over appointment communications and help prevent patient confusion, we’ve introduced the ability to skip patient notifications for individual appointments.
What’s New?
When creating or updating an appointment, users can select Skip Patient Notifications to prevent applicable patient notifications from being sent for that specific appointment.
This is especially useful for appointments that take place outside the practice, such as hospital-based procedures, where sending the practice’s standard appointment communication could provide misleading information.
The option applies to applicable email and SMS notifications, including:
- appointment creation and scheduled notifications (Appointment Created Event)
- appointment rescheduled notifications (Appointment Rescheduled Event)
- appointment no-show notifications (Appointment No-Showed Event)
- appointment cancellation notifications (Appointment Cancelled Event, Appointment Declined Event)
Note: When Patient Contact information is not present Skip Patient Notifications toggle won't be available.
Availability
The Skip Patient Notifications option is available for practices both with and without the Remedly Trigger App:
- Remedly Trigger App Users: only notifications categorized as Patient Notification can be skipped; System notifications cannot be skipped
- Practices without Remedly Trigger App: any patient notifications can be skipped
Refunds now have unique IDs
Finding and referencing refunds is now easier with unique Refund IDs for both Patient and Insurance Refunds. Refund IDs provide a consistent way to identify and navigate to refund records across RCM, without relying on refund dates.
Note: Existing refund records have also been assigned Refund IDs, so the enhancement applies to both historical and newly created refunds.
Refund IDs are now available in the following areas:
- Billing Ledger → Refunds tab. - Refund ID is displayed as the first column and is clickable, allowing you to navigate directly to the corresponding Patient Refund page
- Patient Refund page - Refund ID is displayed in the page header
- Insurance Refund page - Refund ID is displayed in the page header
Note: The Refund Date in the Billing Ledger is no longer clickable; existing date values remain visible.
Introducing Patient Payments Dashboard in RCM
To make patient payments easier to find, review, and manage, we've introduced a dedicated Patient Payments dashboard with a familiar layout and functionality similar to the existing Insurance Payments dashboard.
The new dashboard provides a centralized view of patient payments and makes it easier to locate payments using key payment details.
Benefits
The Patient Payments dashboard makes it easier to:
- Find Patient Payments faster using Payment ID, patient, payment date, status, and payment method
- Reconcile Patient Payments more efficiently by filtering and reviewing payment records in one place
- Reduce time spent searching through payment records with flexible filtering, sorting, and pagination
- Provide a more consistent experience across RCM by bringing patient payments into a workflow similar to Insurance Payments
What’s Included?
The dashboard includes a payment grid with the following information:
- Payment ID
- Payment Date
- Patient
- Payment Method
- Status
- Payment Amount
- Applied Amount
- Refunded Amount
- Unapplied Amount
Note: Payment IDs are clickable and open the corresponding Patient Payment details page.
Search and Filters
You can quickly locate patient payments using Quick Search, which supports searching by both Payment ID and Check Number.
The new-format filter panel allows you to filter payments by:
- Payment Date
- Patient
- Payment Methods
- Statuses
The Patient filter supports search and single selection, while Status and Payment Method support multiple selections.
The dashboard also supports sorting by available columns, and pagination for navigating through payment records.
Note: Additional functionality for entering Patient Payments directly from the dashboard and quick filters will be introduced in future releases.
