How to View Patient Balance
Patient balance is important to check before confirming an appointment or before scheduling a patient's next visit to verify if the patient owes your practice.
There are two financial summary items to verify:
- Credit - the amount of money that the patient has paid which has not been assigned to a specific appointment or bill and thus is credit on their patient account.
- Patient Balance - their outstanding balance i.e. the amount of money that the patient owes to the practice based on unpaid bills.
These details can be viewed in two locations:
1. In the patient chart
You can navigate to the billing ledger to check more patient financial details by clicking Go to Billing Ledger. You will be redirected to the RCM.
